Music at St. Luke’s
Music is an integral part of worship at St. Luke’s. St. Luke’s choirs and musicians cover a diverse range of style periods and genres in addition to the Anglican Choral tradition. St. Luke’s regularly hosts renowned musicians in concert and boasts one of the finest pipe
organs in the Southeast.
The St. Luke's Choir
Adult choir
The Adult Choir at St. Luke’s is comprised of volunteer and professional staff singers. Repertoire for this choir spans five centuries, with a particular emphasis on standards of the Anglican choral tradition. The Adult Choir provides music at the 11:15 a.m. service and monthly Choral Evensong throughout the program year. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. (August-May).
Those interested in joining the choir are encouraged to contact Director of Music Matthew Brown.
Children and youth choir
For children and youth, we offer a graded choir system from three years of age through high school. St. Luke's currently has 46 choristers enrolled in its choir program. Affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), choristers are taught using the Voice for Life curriculum.
Concert Series
Concert Series Brochure (PDF)2024-2025
This year’s Fifth Annual Concert for a Cause features The Merian Ensemble. Established in 2018, five women of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra came together to address the gender imbalance in classical standard repertoire. The Merian Ensemble performs the abundant repertoire of music composed by women and commissions a new work each year. The concert will benefit the mission of Returning Her Home, an organization empowering women following incarceration. The season concludes with an organ recital by the brilliant Korean organist, Yoon-Mi Lim, as part of the Atlanta Summer Organ Festival.
These events are made possible through the generosity of music lovers such as you. Please continue to support our artistic offerings with your presence and by joining our Friends of Music. I look forward to welcoming you!
